Library

The management of the Princessehof’s library has been transferred to Tresoar. With financial support from the Ottema-Kingma Foundation, the museum has worked for many years to build up a unique collection of books and periodicals on ceramics. The study focuses on the material, technical and stylistic aspects of ceramic objects, as well as on the historical, social and cultural context of the places and periods in which the objects were created.

Tresoar has excellent study facilities and is part of national library networks. This increases the accessibility and availability of the specialised ceramics library. The reference library, with recent publications and periodicals, has also been moved to Tresoar. A selection from the reference library has been included in the Tresoar reading room and can be consulted there. The museum will remain involved in developing the collection, and new publications will be closely linked to the museum’s collection areas and exhibition projects.
