In the 18th century, Dutch pottery factories expanded their possibilities. They could now make refined plastics of, for example, cows, shoes and monkeys. These figurines of prize cows – with flower wreaths and ‘gilded’ horns – could be placed on the table as decoration at a dinner, for example.
