Sauce bowl on underplate with handle with handle in the shape of eagle head and a decoration of flower garlands, 1808 – 1809, Dommer & Co, Amstel, porcelain, Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics.
At the beginning of the 19th century, Dutch porcelain production went downhill. Dommer & Co, the last Dutch porcelain factory, also got into trouble. King Louis Napoleon tried to save the factory with a large order. This sauce boat in French Empire style dates from that time. However, it was to no avail: in 1811 the factory closed its doors for good.
