Vase with inlaid decoration of peacock feathers, approx. 1902, Amstelhoek, Amsterdam, design Lambertus Zijl (model) and Chris van der Hoef (decor), earthenware, Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics (on loan from Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed).

Under the motto ‘honesty in material, shape and decoration’ Amstelhoek produced this innovative pottery around 1900. The factory worked with indigenous red and yellow baking clay and age-old decoration techniques such as ringelor, stamping and inlay.
