Lid vase with decoration of stylized peacock feathers, 1908 – 1910, Tile and Fayence Factory Amphora, Oegstgeest, design Chris van der Hoef, earthenware, Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics.
The sober and stylized decorations of Amstelhoek were mainly designed by Chris van der Hoef (1875 – 1933). Between 1908 and 1910 Van der Hoef worked for the Tile and Faience Factory Amphora in Oegstgeest. Here, his style became more graceful, as can be seen in this lid vase. The decoration of peacock feathers is hand-painted and very refined.
